Leakey has over 15 years of experience in Cement Industry has worked previously with two different leading Cement producers in East Africa.

He brings in corporate and production experience having commissioned more than three new plants one being 1600 TPD Integrated Plant in Mombasa.
Leakey is a member of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), having successfully completed a course and practical exercise provided by A2E, An Australian/Kenyan partnership in matters plant Maintenance.

He is an internal Auditor under the Integrated Management System (IMS) ISO 9001:2015.
Until his appointment, he was the head of Quality Control in charge of plant Operations and mining at East African Portland Cement PLC.
Leakey graduated from Agra University, Uttar Pradesh, INDIA with B.SC Chemical Engineering.
